How many pull ups can you do?

First set around 20 but then I drop to like 10-12 on second set then 8-10 on third set. I guess I blow my load on my first set or I don't rest enough between sets.
 
I don't do them very often because of my shoulders but on occasion I will do them as part of my back routine, I can do 3 sets of 10 easily with my body weight(245lbs). They pull real bad on my shoulders and I am afraid I am gonna rip my tendons off the anchors holding them.
 
with a neutral, shoulder width grip I can do 25-30. Wide grip I can get 10.

Use like a tricep push down rope, the rings, my gym has 4 different width neutral bars that start with hands almost together to them being shoulder width. So use those funky looking bars sticking out inside the wide grip bar. It will tear your lats up!!

not saying your wrong but a phil heron back routine i was reading the other day said wide grip is better for back

Ya. You will find that and you find the other if you look hard enough. Different strokes for different folks is what it comes down to I guess. I personally know phil and he says both. Just comes down to moving your own body weight through space and that I know he would agree with.

I've always sucked at reps on chins
I've done a lot of calisthenic type exercises so push ups, chins, dips are things I can do a lot of
 
I can typically do 20 or so first set then drop to 14,8,3,1 lol
