MOST BB Forums use a service called Cloud Flaire
They do because it offers free basic DDOS protection, global DNS, Page Caching etc.
Issue is Cloud Flare keeps copies of the site on their servers! This is the 'cache' and also is able to track the websites visitors, among other issues.
Why do BB forums use yet another security risk? Primary reason money,, secondary they don't know any better.
EG's main server has its own DDOS protection from the DATA center, plus further protection on the server.
Sure it costs more..It however is more secure
