I've had decent luck with mine. I was forced into win8 cause of a software upgrade in my CAD program. But theres a lot of crap that doesn't work right. namely IE and Outlook for Mail.

I love to go home to my macbook

You can get a Mac Mini for $599. No excuse to be running Windows at that price.
