What motivates you to hit the gym every day?

For me it's simple. I'm aggressive and I need something to unwind and also relieve stress and anxiety.
 
I just love being in the gym and lifting weights. Also, like tuna said, there's something satisfying about being older and still in shape. In shape people in their 50's are a rare commodity and I'm not embarrassed to admit that belonging to that small club makes me just a lil proud.

You have every reason to be proud of. Younger colleagues ask me where I find all the energy to workout every day and what I do to look 10 years younger. Easy: "workout, watch your diet and get enough sleep".

I agree. People act like all of us are sooooo lucky that we can maintain or improve our condition. They don't fathom that it takes actual work and attention to the things you mentioned to do that. We, all of us here, aren't lucky, we just prioritize being in shape like they prioritize eating junk food and sitting on their ass.
 
For me right now is looking back at my younger pictures when i was really hardcore bodybuilding.....boy i was a stud i was! Haha.
 
Fighting old age. Its a losing battle at 55 but I sure look good
Being older is motivation enough. I have forgotten what it's like to be sore from a good workout! Now I get up and I'm just sore all the fuking time. Aches and pains in joints and so forth. Old is a badge of honor. So wear it well my friend. 20190708_122302.webp
