ummm kinda the point why i chose this 1...

you are relying on a controversial decision pointed at civil suites not criminal to make your case #1.
#2 kiddie porn is treated @ a different level, and where is currently a kiddie porn case going on?

    kinda made my point.

No, lol, I'm relying on what my lawyer who specializes in this area tells me. Forgive me but I'm gonna take my lawyers word over an internet lawyer's opinion.

so i ask you then all these articles are fake hey?
    pyes should be released?
    the laws are bogus?

your article you speak of was posted by colo, specifically speaks of civil actions not criminal....

glad to know all ppl who had warrants placed on them do to ip's are getting out, when will that be, please ask your lawyer.

even your own actions seam to go against what you are saying, using tor...

Offshore emails one of their biggest things is not keeping logs...

Your stance has done a complete turn around in a week....

Okay man, whatever you wanna do. I'm not gonna lose sleep over it, but you can be paranoid all you want about it. I'm not referring to any article colo posted, I'm referring to information given from a reliable source. The cases you post are on totally different subjects that have way more substantiating circumstances than what we are talking about. You can believe whatever you want, but you aren't a lawyer so go ahead and play internet detective all you want. Done with this thread.

All ISPs can track you by your IP, it all traces back, they do it for liability control. I know, I am an NS/JNE at an ISP. IP addresses DO NOT change based on routing path. the origin IP stays the same no matter which route you take on the internetz.. welcome to the world of BGP.... Arin assigns a bunch of subnets to an organization and no matter how it routs within that org to outside, it will always be the same, UNLESS you get assigned a Natt'd address, in which case it could change depending on internal routing and which border router FWSM, Packet filterer, or normal firewall thats connected to that border router, even then, they do log traffic, and can trace Public to natt'd IP.. I should know, we can do it here where I work.. We have one area that has Nat'd Address and we use a fortinet device to NAT the addresses.. Guess what, we LOG EVERYTHING, whose going to what website etc, who had the internal IP at what time and what and where their traffic goes to. ALL ISP's do this . Subpenas come in here all time time. I have actually seen Feds talk to our security department here ( we lowly NS/JNE's dont get to deal with the PR/LEGAL crap).. ISP's will work with the feds.. We keep public IP address logs on who used them when for 5 years ,, I think nat'd is less..

The IP address is the first thing to start an investigation, they may not raid yer ass for an IP log, but they will have the ISP put a tap on your internet connectivity (something that ALL isp's can do with the use of ERSPAN across their network)

I tried to get other admins to do similar, my analness on security though is hated by admins.
Known fact by admins but not users, most admins can barely run the forum software 'some can't even that'
Most have no business running a board at the end of user security, and others are just 2 damn cheap to put security in place.
