View Full Version : Preacher Curl Machine

Anyone use them? Most of the locals of the gym I go to don't have a normal preacher station. So I'll usually do dumb bell preacher curls 'or whatever they care called' on a utility bench.

Yesterday however with my low back being so shot I decided to try the Preacher Curl Machine, it was 'ok' but it's so hard to get a good stretch imo with such a set position if you know what I mean.

I use the hammer strength plate loaded preachers...also I stand up n lean against it to feel more stretch on the biceps

I wish my gym had that type of equipment ;) Very, very limited to say the least.

100's is the heaviest I have noticed anywhere around here, no matter on the gym and it blows!

I use it from time to time b/c when I do, I can hit the biceps from different angles which is always a good thing.

Yeah, but I think they are talking about a machine as opposed to a regular preacher curl bench.

Still using it until my back heals, picking up and holding the db's are a bitch.
Even started using the tri machine, funky but gives a different/decent stretch of the muscle.

Maybe you're overtraining them...cut the masturbation back to 2 o3 times a week and see if that helps:finger2

Here's another one of those "things that just piss me off"! This guy was on the curl machine in front of me-my fat ass was on the eliptical, believe it or not:rolleyes:-doing some sort of exercise. No idea how much weight he had on-I think the machine only goes to a hundred anyhow:mad:-but on every down rep, he came completely out of the seat! I.E...he would basically stand up! So in other words, he was using his body weight to curl the machine back up WTF-:finger

LOL i have seen that thousands of times. Some guy comes sits down legs out behind him kinda swisted in his seat using his whole body to do a curl. Guarrentee not even a small pump in them arms after that maybe his back but not the arms.

i'm still all messed up, hurt my hip last time out 'to the bar' so lifting db's is out of the question in many cases and I can't get the right form for a lot of things.
Taking it real light this week, supersetting, etc.
Anyways I've been using the tricep machine now as well, kind of funky and hurts my elbows but it's better than nothing.
