Between hurting my back, and then being sick myself, and then having sick kids at home, and kids on break, I haven't been going much since the beginning of the year. :(

I checked my logs when I was there today, and today was just the 3rd time this year. It felt good to be back. I was doing lower body and I was able to pick right up where I left off. With the time off, I was thinking that I might need to drop down a notch and work back up. Everything felt great until I got to the multi-hip machine. I got through 3 of the 4 exercises that I do on that machine and then I started feeling really light-headed.

I sat down for a minute, but I could feel all the blood draining from my face, and I felt like I was gonna throw up. :puke: So I went into the locker room and had to lay down for a few minutes. Felt better after that so I went back and finished most of my workout.

I'm not sure what caused it. I don't know if it was because I hadn't worked out in a while and I just over-exerted. Or if it's because I'm still fighting off the end of this nasty cold I've had. Or if it was something with my blood sugar, since that tends to run a little bit low anyway.

Feeling fine now.

It was probably the combo of both you just over exerted yourself. Be Careful when I miss a few weeks I always go back and try to start off were I left off and Im so sore the next day and my joints act up .

I agree with Gator..I also think it might be blood sugar...I am hypo myslef...so if I try to work out too hard on an empty stomach..I get weak..and often nauseated...have you been diagnosed as Hypoglicemic?

I was diagnosed with gestational hypoglycemia when I was pregnant with my first. I'm just borderline hypo when I'm not pregnant. I have noticed that it tends to be lower when I workout. Or maybe it's just getting worse as I get older. :(

I just try to balance it out with extra protein.

OMG! Don't even joke around about that! :p My husband had a vasectomy about 4 years ago!

BTW, went back to the gym today and did upper body. Everything was fine and it felt good. :D

 I thought it was the mail man! :D

It definitely sounds like you were about to go hypo during your workout that first day back, what you described is pretty much exactly what happens when your blood sugar crashes too hard, if that happens next time grab a protein drink or bar from your gym if they sell them ;) glad to hear you upper body day went a lot better :D
