Also not making national news is the flooding that my area is going thru at the moment, many people have lost everything, but thankfully no lives have been lost.
HOPE turned to heartbreak for saturated north Queensland yesterday when flooding rains swamped the region again, scuttling hopes of a quick end to the crippling natural disaster that has affected thousands of families, farms and businesses.
And the outlook is bleak. King tides are due today and tomorrow and the Weather Bureau says more heavy rain is likely to be dumped on the north by the end of the week.
Hundreds of homeowners in Ingham and adjacent areas watched in dismay yesterday as floodwaters that had receded below the floorboards of their houses rose again as more than 300mm of rain fell - 200mm of it in just one hour.
