Hey guys,

Got a query for you all.

So you have the above supplements right, just want to make sure I've got the right idea about each of them and I have a few questions about it too..

Weight gainer - Put's on size right? Does it put on a lot of fat?

Portein - If you had a smaller build, you would rather use the weight gainer ? or is there something I'm missing with just normal protein powders over weight gainers?

Creatine - Repairs muscle quickly? gives you an energy boost pre-training??
Also read it gives you some water blotage? Is that correct?

Vitamins - Besides the vitamins you get out of food, is there any poitn in also taking tablet vitamins? I take fish oils twice a day, but don't we get the necessary A,B,C,E etc from our food, or does this make a difference too?

Thanks in advance :)

Well, there are good and bad weight gainers. If it is mostly sugar, then it is mostly garbage. Yes it will pretty much just make you fat.
Unless you are really having a hard time putting on size, then stick with the protein powders. Real food is where it really counts. The protein powder after all is just a "supplement".
Creatine draws water into the muscle. This carries in vitals stuff and stretches the fascia to encourage muscle growth. It will give the muscle a full but spongy look, but that is all part of the basic science of how it works.
Vitamins-if you are training hard, you require more than the average joe. You do get some from the food you eat, but I still like to take a good multi as insurance. If you are really into the "science" of bodybuilding, then you may find yourself on a very rigid schedule of vitamin and nutrient ingestion. Timing can play a key role in how the body handles things.
Hope that helps a little.

i think the main staples when it comes to OTC supps for a athletic guy would be number 1 a good but simple whey protein. Glutamine to help repair your damaged muscles. BCAA and a multivitamin and of course your omega fatty oils. Im not much into creatine and NO2 or things like that before I got into the dark side I swear I have problaly spent 10 of thousands on that stuff and it turned out to be garbage gain 5lbs lose 5lb be 200 dollars broker but thats just My opinion bro. Some ppl love creatine and no2. With a good diet and rest and the basic supp you will get great results.

Protein: builds muscle, whey protein PWO, casein protein before bed (no need to buy casein protein, cottage cheese will do)

Weight gainer: protein with added sugar, too pricey for the results it will deliver

Creatine: good for strength, can cause stomach upsets or gut problems.

Vitamins: combined to anti-oxidants and multi-minerals, a good supplement for us, bodybuilders, who don't eat enough greens and fruits.

Actually, it's BCAA's...branch chain amino acids. Essentially, they are the building blocks of protein.

Bump they are very important in body building or other physical activities.

Im on protein shakes as well as vitamins incl glutamine and have been told not to swim for a while as that seems to be where I burn most of my weight. No alcohol and also sleep, I have to do lots of it.

I see. So you can purchase these from just stores like where you get your protein from?

edit:

Ok I see they do sell them.

So this is what I'm planning to go in and buy.

Whey Protein
Creatine (Just to try it out for now)
BCAA tablets

I'm also taking fish oils, going to possibly get some multi vitamins too..

I've had a weight gainer with me for a while, although it has quite a bit of sugar, carbs and fat in it.. Should I still be taking this? Don't want to bloat..

If you are a "hard gainer" which it sounds like you might be, the weight gainer won't hurt. Since you already have it, just use it up.

Honestly supplements are just what they say, SUPPLEMENTS they are to supplement your normal dietary intake, with that being said I think you should focus on your nutrition and try to get as many food meals in as possible for quality muscle :D

Yup, I'm already doing that :) Hungry all the time.
Just thought it would be a good idea to have my supps in check too.

And Wabbit, thanks. I do plan to anyway :)
