Im not too sure if this is where I should put this, but if not, please move it.
Im trying to put on weight at the moment, have been checked out by doctors etc so being underweight is not anything medical. Just cant seem to do it. I eat and eat like a real pig at times but still weigh the same.
Im a size 0 or 1 in american sizes and dont exercise at all. Im also looking at different exercises to do so that I can become more toned, but dont want big muscles. I gave up an active life about 2 years ago, doing swimming, martial arts and cricket etc and am still the same size.
Any help would be appreciated :D

I would do more compound exercises in weight training, squats things like that. Also eat 5-7 times a day. Eat more carbs now.

Let's find a doctor that will take off my extra weight and put it on you. :p
You are still young, sweetie. Eating all of that junk food will catch up with you eventually. I was exactly the same way until I hit about 20-21. :o
Eat healthy, do whatever exercise you enjoy, and establish a healthy lifestyle that you can maintain as you get older.

Sounds good, will start by doing some of these, have heaps of gym equipment at home. Just cant afford to slim down anymore.

Yeppers that could be true, plus when females have kids they choc on the weight.
I have been reading up on body sculpting, where you put on muscle and get a nice lean look, thats the look that I wanted to have.

What's wrong with being a size 0/1 anyhow? Thats what size Bunny is and I happen to think she's perfect;) She has put on a few pounds since we started working out regularly though! We lift fairly heavy, and she is getting very nicely toned, plus the extra work has increased her appetite.
Funny thing is, she was worried about the weight gain, but I assured her she wasn't getting fat. Muscle tends to be much heavier than fat, and not only that, but it will also burn fat. Even though she has gained a few pounds, she is considerably leaner than before:tongue4
Oh yeah, and the big muscle thing is really nothing to worry about. Unless you have superior genetics, you aren't going to get huge muscles no matter how hard you work out. It's harder for a woman than a man to get large muscles, and trust me, it's hard enough for a man.

WEll, sounds like you have a problem most women would actually love to have~!!! LOL I would suggest you get a good weight training program laid out for you and just go all out full force into it!! I assure you you won't build up bulky big muscles, unless perhaps you happen to be a genetic freak. LOL You need to keep you caloric intake fairly high with emphasis placed on higher protein, moderate carbs and moderate clean fat intake, broken into at least 6 meals a day. As far as cardio is concerned keep it at a lower intensity level, and you may limit it to 3-4 times a week for a while and adjust it accordingly as you progress. You may add a few techniques us BBers use if we are really trying to bulk up by having a protein shake before bed and sometime in the middle of the nite as well, just till you start to add some weight on, you may try doing this a few nights in a row and then skip a nite or 2, start again. See how your body responds to this.
Also I'd be curious about your metabolic rate and maybe having a over active thyroid. So you may consider keeping a thermometor next to your bed and as soon as you wake (I mean as soon as you open your eyes) before getting up grab it and take you temp, so this for a few mornings and see if its normal, above or below normal. If its normal, no worries if its above well you may want to have some blood work done, if its below, well there a re a few natural alternatives to boost it before considering any meds for it.
Keep us posted, I'd like to here how things go for you~!!! Good Luck~!!
Stay Strong~~!!!

Gosh, this is like another language lol There is nothing wrong with my thyroid, that was tested before Xmas as well as being anaemic. Had a lot of different tests done at the time, everything is fine.
I will look into the shakes definately. Also have joined a gym and have access at home to different gym equipment so can work out whenever I want too, I guess.

That is really good to know :D Bunny thinks the same way that I was thinking as well, you dont want to lose that feminine look. Thanks.

you want to gain huh? if yhou go to a gym put a barbell in the corner, put some weight on the side facing you. hoist it to your chest and squat down and when you come up press it in the air. make sure the other end of the BB is secured in the corner. This movement is excelent for releasing GH and test in the body and it hits just about every muscle. ITs safer than doing normal squats and hits alot more.

bump to this....I find it a total joke that your doctor tells you to gain weight... come on, you're 18! Its just your metabolism being high at such young age. Just like what Wabbitt said about Bunny...there's nothing wrong with being that size ???

I agree, I do need toning up, but as for putting on weight, Im healthy prob not as fit as I should be, but I underweight for my height and age. But apart from getting sick at Xmas there is nothing wrong with me at all. But thats what I was told. Put on weight. And Im not talking about being malnourished or anything like that, I eat a lot of food.
