How'd the surgery go M? Makes me nervous when you don't post right away. Wendy and I are still praying for you...I will have her ask for prayers at church tonight. I can't make it-I have to work.
UPDATE: dads surgery was looong but positive. doc said everything went better than expected and he thought the cancer showed no signs of spreading. im headed back now to check on him. please keep up the prayers because he is in extreme pain. they have him tied to the bed because he is thrashing around so bad. will update again when able.........thanks brothers!

I spoke with mwm for a few minutes today seemed tired but sound like his dads gonna to well. Still in alot of pain but i guess that is expected.

just woke up from a short nap and headed back to the hospital...........all is good so far, he's just hurting extremely bas as expected. will update again when able. ill call ya back on the way juice :) thanks guys

good to hear he is ok!
Hoping for a fast / full recovery.
dads still in the hospital. pain meds have him acting nuts. pulled his tube out of his nose and iv out of his neck so now hes tied to the bed at both hands and feet. thinks hes in jail for a dui because hes tied up. i sure hope this crap quits soon or we will both be nuts. been spending about 14 hours a day at the hospital. be back around when able

I know you are tired bro just by the sound or mood you were in. Parents can drive us nuts sometimes esp when there creeping up in age. But know that this means a whole lot, you being there by his side. when times get tough, its family and friends who pull you through those dark days. Hope your back is holding up during these long hospital visits. Call me if you need anything bro

hey guys (you to bunny).........just getting around to checking in again. My dads getting better and his mental state (or lack of) seems to be coming around as well. Still some long days and nights ahead. Thanks for the prayers and thoughts. Ill talk back with yall soon :)

Yeah Wabbit.............he's all good in that department. I took my new pastor by there one afternoon before his surgery and he had a good long talk with my dad about his eternal destination. My dad assured us all was well and told us about the time when he accepted the Lord as his savior. Hopefully after all of this is over he will serve him like he should...........like we all should :). Thanks for asking.

You are welcome brother! How is he doing...any progress?
Dads still in the hospital................day 14 i think. Incision on his neck became infected and required another surgery. His mental state is close to normal now thankfully. Still not sure on the total outcome.........doc says there are some live cells left. Not sure yet what will happen to cure that. Thanks for the prayers everyone.

My dad is home now. Been home 2 days. Went back to ER yesterday for pain issues and they wanted to admit him again. He told um to get screwed and went back home. Home health care came and gave him a morphine shot and applied a morphine patch. Hopefully it works !! Update later......see yall

Sorry I have been so absent lately. My dad's cancer has returned and he has been given 6 months to live. We found this out yesterday after being told monday he was cancer free and on the road to recovery. Doc called and explained he had made a mistake when reviewing the pathology report. Imagine that !!! Please keep him in your prayers.

yes ............. they sent him home. After seeing him today I dont expect him to last 2 months. His will is broken and he appears to have given up. He has regressed terribly in only 2 days. I feel so sorry for him. Please keep up the prayers that he can find peace in what lies ahead.

That's the sad part...seeing them just give up. Seems if your mind isn't in it, your body soon follows. At least you can take comfort in knowing that his destiny is secure. Hang in there brother...we are praying for you as well as him!

Sorry to hear this friend. I know you will miss him and be saddened by it, but he will be happy and pain free in heaven my friend. My prayers are with him and your family.
My Dad's suffering is finally over. He passed away around 9 pm last night. I will miss him terribly but am thankfull he is at peace. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss brother! Bunny told me, and this is the first thread I went to. Yes he is at peace, and thankfully, you know he made his decision about eternity in time. Wish I knew what to say but I am at a loss for words. I don't want to call and bother you and the family while you grieve, but feel free to call me anytime. Just remember brother...he is home now! It's in God's hand.

Tomorrow it will be one year since my dad died. He was really active but in December 2007, he had heart surgery and from then on, his health deteriorated rapidly. His leukemia and prostate cancer that had been really well under control for years both recurred ... He didn't want to end up in a nursing home and kinda stopped fighting ...
