I have been asked this question a few times so I am going to post this here for all to see.

You are an admin so you can read our pms correct?

NOBODY can read the pm's but the users themselves ;)

In a normal VB or forum install a admin could technically go into the data base to read the pm's. Some assholes even put a mod into place so they can read their members PM's.

Here however I do not have such a mod, nor would I ever. In addition to that the encryption makes PM's look like the following even to the admin when he/she looks into the database.

enV0cD1qd0FVUQNTTUNVTQleQ0VeDkZDThis is what a pm looks like in the database to me, directly diving into it. This is the last pm Buck sent me.

Now of course I guess I could if I really wanted to try to figure out how to break the encryption, I however will not be doing that ;)

If there is ever any method I can make the pm's even more secure in the future, I of course will. What is said between members is their business and theirs alone.

I know for a fact that some admins read PMs.

Encryption is great, I love it. What does "pruning" mean? I like storing PMs (only important ones) but not so long ago, I looked in my inbox and they seemed to have disappeared

Pruning automatically gets rid of pm's after X amount of time. This is for security purposes.
