CEO's crying for money but blowing it likes it's tap water!

The auto industry is begging for money ATM, fine on the surface I'd rather see the auto industry emerge than some of these corrupt banks. What pisses me off however is these CEO's who still making millions yearly, one they reported came in on a private jet at the cost of $20,000.00 just to come to Washington!

WTF that's simply insane. They need money so bad but they wont take cuts themselves in perks or pay! How about the execs work for free for a few years to get the business back up? Small business owners often have to have years where they lose money!

Its cost 73$ an hr. per worker compared to 43$ for toyota...nobody wants to ackowlegde the 800lb gorilla in the room

Yes I did think of the costs of the employee as well into the equation, I do think there is 'foul play' on both sides of the fence.

In any event I firmly believe in those at the top taking a hit if they are not profiting before those at the bottom do.

A mix of both cuts on the bottom and huge cuts at the top might be in order. I'm sure it would be much easier to swallow for those at the bottom to take some form of a freeze/cut in order to keep their jobs if the execs also suffer and tighten up their belt as well.

We just got news today that since Ford sold of its commanding share of Mazda , They want their FlatRock plant back. Which is where the Mustang is built. Word on the streets is , They are going to move that to Detroit and give us total production of the F-150. VERY GOOD NEWS !!!! If I can just make it to the end of my schooling.

I agree with you Grim, it's insane some of the perks these guys get. Mangament level & above get free cars and insurance not only for themselves but their spouse. i have a friend at GM who gets $1500 a year towards his kids college tuition and two weeks ago 12 or 14 chrysler execs got between $1 million and $1.8 million. if they started cleaning house years ago by cutting some "perks" things might not be so bad now. some talking heads are saying if they go bankrupt they can start over without the unions etc. a bailout sounds like it would be a bandaid in pushing back the inevitable. the people who took buyouts last year must be thanking their lucky stars.

Ford is still offering buyouts. We are in the best position out of the "Big 3 " To move ahead should we get the bailout.

AS this is an untruth !! I dont make this , I get an earning certificate at the end of the year . Maybe 52 an hour when its said and done.I should clarify myself ...it cost the company 78$ an hr. (not 73 like I said earlier) and it doesn't mean that you are making that (i'm sure you would be happy if you did). Just like when I have an employee, after state workmans comp and Ins. ect...a 10$ an hr. guy can cost the employer 30-50$ an hr. The auto industry should not get a bailout and should go bankrupt. they would not eliminate the unions but would renogiate union contracts. Ceo pay structures would have to be cut as well under bankruptcy. How can GM compete and be competive when their worker cost them 78 bucks and toyota is paying 40 something. Unions... if they had there way, demanding and getting more and more and more will eventually drive the auto industry in the ground. Its organized blackmail legally....

I know what your talking about. I work at Ford Motor Co. Building F-150s in Kansas . My Explanation of benifits is just that . basically It tells me what I cost the company for that year. And all of that stuff is included on the statement.

Why is that ridiculous, can you do their jobs or even understand what they are doing? Someone has to be in charge of the workers and it looks easy when you see someone sitting behind a desk, but there is more to it than that.

I dont like people who smell of BO.
