I don't think it's a total farce, but I must admit I'm not extremely knowledgeable on the topic.

I do believe we do 'or can' destroy the environment in more ways than one, especially when you've got countries such as China without regulation at all, spewing more pollution from one factory than countless others in a modern nation.

Good topic though, I might have to do some research ;)

That is a good point.

I do 'think' they use other methods to try to estimate things, but how close are those estimations in all reality?

I watch a show the other day about the glaziers melting at a very fast rate now. Who knows i know its hotter than hell down in the south and my electric bill is thru the roof.

My old house had one month that was I believe over $800 for one single month of heat! :eek:

I shudder to think what that would be with fuel prices today!

Well, There have been plenty of global temp trends (according to artifactual finds and earth layer studies) To me I thiink it can possibly be excellerated but you gotta think, the world has spewed plenty of its own gases in the past and with gigantic eruptions have even filled the atmosphere with so much crap that it blankets the earth. Same with asteroids hitting and creating enough gasses and other crap to block the sun and fill the atmosphere. The atmosphere replenishes and survives. I think its all just a brutal cycle that we dont understand and I think that in order for the polar caps to keep regenerating, we need a major catastrophy. This is all my theory but I think that from the time the last asteroid hit and kept an ice age i think befor that the polar caps where probably doing the same thing... melting, and BOOM asteroid hits, blocks the sun, everything freezes, and there you have it, fresh ice and fresh atmosphere. (i hope this is understandable but its just my belief)
