Hey all, how you doin?
Wasn't exactly sure where to put this as it covers everything not just one category.
I want to start working out, I'm skinny I guess.. but I have a bit of meat on me lol.. I weight 60kilos I'm 19..I'm not exactly sure on my height but I think it would be around 170-175. something like that.
Anyway, I eat quite a bit.. Don't really split it up into hours or whatever.. I just eat when I'm hungry.. and at set breaks such as work 11am, 1pm, 3pm and in the mornings I guess between 7-8am, and in the evenings around 5-7pm, and dinner between 7-8pm.. have a snack before I sleep say 11pm..nothing heavy.
Anyways, so I'm guessing I need to put on weight .. I'm going to start off by eating chicken breast, rice, vegetables, steak?, egg as I've been told those are good choices to gain healthy weight.
Also for workouts all I'm honestly familiar with it bench, and dumbells.. so yeah I'm a noob at this.. need a workout guide or something along those lines of what to do and what days..
Anyway yup, basically need advice on all this and have been told this is a good place to get some XD

Aram

Welcome aboard bro. Lots of good info here for you. The first thing I'd suggest you do is start tracking your diet. You need to know exactly how much and of what you are taking in. One of the best ways I've found is through a site like fitday.com . You may be surprised how few calories you really do get.
Workouts are another story. If you are brand new to lifting, then a full body workout 3 or 4 times a week may be a good way to start. After a few weeks, you can split it into say an upper and lower body type workout, and as you grow-which will happen quite rapidly at first-you can add in more intense isolation type workouts. Keep your protein intake high and limit your junk food intake.
Good luck bro-it's good to have you here.
Sounds like good advice to me.

Awesome, well from what I read on one of the sites I was browsing was that shit carbs isn't needed.. so I'm going to cutback on the junk food and going to go the shopping center next week and get myself some lean cut beef, chicken breast, more eggs, potatoes, peanut butter :P , whole wheat bread, oats, cheese, more tuna XD
But yeah, I've started taking a log of what I'm eating.. I think it will be easier to see where I'm at say in a fortnight.. see if I've gained any weight.
So I'm basically logging it like this -
Day 1:
Breakfast – 1 piece of toasted slice bread, 3 scrambled eggs, 1 cup orange juice.
Lunch -
Snack -
Dinner -
Snack -
Before sleep -
Any pointers?

yes, stay away from bread it has flower in it witch is a starchy fat.what you need to do is read flex magizine they have the best nutritional advice know to man.thats the "guide"that has gave me great sucess in my search for muscle.BEFORE you go shopping and spend your hard earned cash plot out you goals so you know what to buy.START your diet routine before your work out routine, you dont want to lift wieghts with no energy right?
your morning meal should be high in carbs and protien mixed with your multi-Vs.
3 eggs scrambled
4oz of ham or soduimless turkey breast
1 large bannana
8oz orange juice/mixed with creatine
let me know if you need help making a mass plan.

not all bread is too bad for you IMO if you eat the right kind of breads in moderation you should be fine. I eat 4 slices a day of sourdough or wholegrain, and im maintaining a lower bf%

I would stay away from tuna in the can bo high in sodium. Also if your trying to loose bodyfat at first try eating more fish than red meat and chicken. The fish will matbolize(sp) faster than the checken and meat will. Which means that your body will be hungry again faster and you burn more calories when your body gets turned on. I am no nutrtionist but this is what i know from paying people and listening to people such as Shasta and Ironmike

If you are not "on" than higher sodium wouldnt be TOO bad if you keep water intake high as well as keep your blood pressure in check. as buck said I would stay away from tuna but i would eat it only in moderation for tuna can raise blood mercury over time which degrades the body in ways. Tilapia, Salmon, Shrimp (high in sodium), Cod, and orange roughy etc are really good for you and you can make some fun recepes with them. Also rich with omega three fatty acids. I am going to tell you tho that it is hard to bulk up and lose fat at the same time unless you have time for alot of low intensity cardio. BUT on that note the more LBM you have the easier it is to burn fat!
Any questions I am glad to help.
