View Full Version : Days per week
How many days per week do you workout?
I normally try to get in at least 5-6 days, my body simply can't take a full 7 days anymore.

geez man, do you work out in the mornign or nite?
Shasta

it could be the food your eating at nite as well
Normally I workout in the afternoon, roughly 11:00-12:00 starting
I however have missed every day this week because I'm sicker than a dog, wonder if that's why I can't sleep. Not burning myself out with my workout.

I like going to the gym feeling fully recovered having had a good sleep the night before muslces filled up with glucogen ready to attack the weights as if there were my enemies this is the only time i will excersize. It can be 2 or 3 times a week, once a week or once in 2 months , as has happened. I believe its pointless to hit the gym unless you can give your all . anyone who says the can 5 or 6 days a week is full of it!!!
I have seen many people fall into routines they "must" follow thinking this is the only way to a great physique.
"well i go to the gym 6 days a week for over 5 years i still look the same"
keep doing what your doing brother!!!!!
im tired i had a bunch more thoughts ill write em down tomorrow

I Like to go to the gym 2 on 1 off 2 on and 2 off
or 2 on 2 off. if i dont go a certain amoount i get more stressed. but on my off days i will do som,e ab workouts and or cardio

I don't agree with that one bit.
I hit the gym harder than anyone at my gym, I hit it at least 6 days a week when I'm not sick 'like I am now'
I however do work at home, if i had a normal job I'd say I would not be able to. Working at home however I can recover so much better. I wake up in the morning, when ready I 'at my own pace' go into the gym. I hit it extremely hard, I then come home and recover.
Drink a shake and eat, relax, and basically do nothing but give my body what it needs to recover.

I think of it as thrashing onehard one day once a week. I do not need much cardio because i get plenty at work. (upside of having a physical job) Dieting is a breeze I can eat LOT grow muscles and keep my fat uner 10 woowhoo!

right now 0 days a week (2 bad disk in the back) waiting to see whats gonna happen with that, but usually 4-5 days a week, might come in on a weekend and hit a body part I feel didn't get worked good during the week. when on cycle its 5 days hard 2 recovery days not always in that order

Damn sorry to hear. I've taken my lower back out a few times, but couldn't imagine having 2 bad disk's 'funny here I originally typod and put 2 bad ****s :o'
Anyways I should drag my ass to get my back checked out one of these days, but my worse fear would be about what you have. That's gotta make even trying to workout damn near impossible, and some movements EXTREMELY painful.

That's gotta make even trying to workout damn near impossible, and some movements EXTREMELY painful.LOL! pretty sure I don't have two bad ****s, maybe one bad one after a hard cycle....but yeah do see the doc and get x-rayed. I don't see the doc unless absolutely I have too but in my case it was getting so bad that I knew something wasn't right. When I asked my doc about working out still he said squats and deadlifts were out of the question, because heavy compression on either one of those disks would prolly rupture them. Now your talking being laid up for God knows how long and prolly looking at a 40,000 dollar surgery for spinal disk fusion and being laid up some more for recovery. I'm not gonna stop working out or cycling, I worked to long and hard esp at my age (46) to stop now so I'll have to work around the legs and abs and esp the back muscles without doing those things which could pop a disk. It can be done, other guys have and have great bodys to show for it. so don't be discouraged if yours is the same diagnosis. I have only complety stopped working out to self evaluate exactly where I stand with what I can and shouldn't do. Long story short get it looked at it could be something else that could be short term but if not taken care of could end up being long term and/or permanient. Hope that helps
I just hate doctors, plus no insurance :(

I just hate doctors, plus no insurance :(same here, no ins. either but look around for group clinics (not free ones) and at least get the x-ray. cost ya about 100-175 for the xray, 50 bucks for the intial visit and about 25 bucks for a shitload of vicodin. depending on which clinic you can find. try running a search for ones in your area. I also get my Meds at Sam;s club ( pretty cheap for no ins.)
